I bring a trained and attentive ear to listen to the words and the feelings expressed by the parties, and I focus exclusively on the conversation in mediation with empathy and an intention to identify potential areas of agreement and/or compromise.

By empathetic listening and thoughtful feedback I am able to assist the parties in visualizing available avenues to resolution of their dispute.

Because I have participated in so many types of mediations in a wide variety of dispute situations I bring flexibility and creativity to the process of solution-finding.

I invest the time to prepare for mediation in advance, and I remain attentive to the mediation process so that we are able to most effectively and efficiently arrive at resolution.  This respect for the process saves the parties time and money.

As an active member of national and regional professional mediator organizations I make it a priority to stay current with trends and developments in dispute resolution that give me the ability to conceive of original and genuine resolution alternatives.

As a civil law attorney, my practice has informed my understanding of the alternatives to negotiated resolution in mediation, including the applicable law, anticipated costs of litigation and the unforeseeable consequences of submitting a dispute to a judge or jury for determination.
